Kids Club
... Day 1
Hi dear praying friends,
... home after a twelve hour
day, normal for a Kids Club day. There were the usual trip ups of vehicle
problems and breakdowns, all eventually figured out or repaired. Lost kids
who didn't get picked up, and maps into neighborhoods the drivers just couldn't
figure out. The heat, rowdy kids, and confusion in a new facility that
looks and behaves like a castle, all added to the first day feelings. Then
the sponsor of our first work crew meal forgot and the 55 work crew didn't eat
dinner until almost 9 pm tonight. One of our work crew bosses, the one who
drives one of our busses, injured his back and is flat on his back for two or
three days at least.
So, this is what we are used
to on the first day. Plenty to pray for --
Yet, Kids Club has historically been about watching the Lord strengthen our
faith, our endurance, our resolve. So the challenges and the difficulties
become part of it -- and actually work to bring about the benefits the Lord has
in mind.
Please pray with us for the
next two weeks --
-
For Ulises Gonzales - who
is flat on his back for two or three days, for healing
-
For children who have lots
of stress and personal problems - Angel, Marky, Freddy, Vanessa, Magaly,
Cruz, Elias, Shorty
-
For young work crew leaders
who want to make it but will be tested -- Victor, Anthony
-
For the 310 children who
will hear the gospel in deed and word the next two weeks
-
For our vehicles
-
For our relationship with
First Historic Presbyterian Church
-
For the 55 work crew who
will grow in Christ -- who will grow to trust Him and love Him and follow
Him more these next days
-
For Donna our administrator
who grows arms and hands during Kids Club
Meanwhile, the children
arrived this morning with smiles and joy and anticipation -- ready for the best
two weeks of their year. We greeted each other with celebration -- it was
powerful -- the house was packed!! Thanks for praying and standing in the
gap with and for us.
Love you,
