Response to the Summer Prayer Letters from Bosnia

Dearest Prayers,

I thought this would encourage you, to know who some of your prayer partners have been this summer.  Many of you know that over the years, we have built a strong connection to a work that began before the war to the unreached peoples of Bosnia.  This continued in Phoenix, and over the years refugee Bosnian children came to Kids Club and future Bosnian workers were trained in Kids Club.  Last year, one of our own home grown leaders, Nadine, spent a good number of weeks as part of a team in Bosnia, and this summer two of our own long term leaders, Jessica and Shannon, are summer staff there ... we are so proud of way they love the Lord and others.

What an encouragement as we leave for Mexico in the morning.
Love you,  Kit

From Bosnia ...

Kit, Just wanted you to know that Mags and I have been keeping up with your prayer letters here in Bosnia. They have been a blessing and an encouragment for us and its been good to know how to pray for you all. Thought a lot about Kid's Club when it was happening and felt especially burdened to pray on Lake Day.

You'd have been so proud of Jessica and Shannon leading a VBS in the little town of Breza. There were many poor Bosnian and Roma(gypsy)children who attended and several who heard of Christ for the first time. He became saviour to several. It was a blast to watch the water games and hear 30 little non English speakers singing "Boom Chick a Boom!" at the top of their lungs. These girls have been trained well and have been a blessing to many. I hope you'll pass it on to the church.

Well, we'll keep praying for you on this end. Hope you'll do the same. A hug for Juanita please.
Much Love, Helen

An excerpt from one of Jessica and Shannon's prayer letters ...

Jess and I are living with one of the church's long term workers Dani along with two nationals, Dejana and Mirela, we have a full house but have so   loved our time with our roommates and smell of real bosnian coffee in the   morning. The first week we were here we were kept busy with preparing the   church property for all the summer stuff, prayer walking Sarajevo and Breza, and doing team building. We were able to reconnect with several of our friends from last summer.

The next week we were involved in a Bible School for the children in Breza.   Many of the children come from extremely poor families and at times it felt a little like Neighborhood Ministries. Jess and I took turns teaching a lesson with a translator, Jess did games with them and I was in charge of crafts. We got to love on about 24 amazing children and God moved, several met Christ as their friend and savior.

Psalm 68:9,10

You gave abundant showers, O God;
 you refreshed your weary inheritance.
 Your people settled in it,
and from your bounty, O God,
 you provided for the poor.
