Summer’s Over and It was Good!

Thank you for your ongoing love and prayer ministry on our behalf.  The summer was a beautiful reminder that the Lord is attentive to our cries, he hears us when we call out to Him for the kingdom business we risk on His behalf.

 

Summer Team

You prayed for these kingdom warriors, the Neighborhood Ministries summer team of 2006.  I want to thank you on their behalf.  They finished strong and carried life transforming lessons from all they experienced.

Fall programs start up in the next few weeks:

2. Jr High (130 7^th and 8^th graders) Tuesdays
3. Sr. High (200 9^th – 12^th graders) Wednesdays
4. I Can Do It groups
5. Partners in Learning Mentors
6. Headstart
7. Jeremiah Project -- Jobs and education resources for youth
8. Mom’s Place
9. “Storytellers”
10. The Art Center
11. Hope House girls move in soon (Yea!)
12. A new young men’s group
13. and a new class called “Within My Reach” (an opportunity for our young women to understand permanent committed relationships)

Pray with us for:

• recruiting committed volunteer staff for all programs
• pacing and strength for team leaders
• transportation for programs (healthy vans and buses – and bus drivers)
• longsuffering love for those we serve
• right schools and resources for kids and youth
• program funding

Trainings this Fall

We are privileged to provide multiple trainings and educational opportunities for staff, interns, volunteers and community friends and partners.  Each is unique and serves to equip this and the next generation urban worker with tools to stay passionate for the work we do.

More Prayer
 

• Pray for our finances – we have just completed an incredible summer, with many receiving tremendous ministry.  We are still paying all the summer bills.  Will you please, call out to the Lord with us for provision to meet all the needs of the work?
   
• New interns – Five new two-year interns are raising their support, pray for them in this faith stretching process.  They are eager to begin their work!
