The Mission of The Church @ The
Neighborhood Center:
"To Love God and to Love our Neighbors."
"To Love God" means for
us to:
- worship;
- pray;
- serve;
- practice communion and baptism;
- and live life as graciously redeemed
children of God.
"To Love our Neighbors"
means for us to:
- share the Gospel by seeing others as
God sees them;
- holistically caring for the poor, the
widow, the imprisoned, the oppressed, the needy;
- caring for those God brings us without
partiality;
- praying for others;
- being used by God for racial
reconciliation;
- growing together in the confidence of
God's work in us;
- creating a fun, trusting, alive, and
committed community;
- "fast" - fighting injustice
and oppression, feeding the hungry, and providing shelter for
the wanderer;
- reproducing believing communities in
parts of the world that are unreached for Christ;
- and studying God's word.
This mission statement feels so much a part
of what we have already tried to be, and what we pray God will bless
us with in the new church and ministries before us.
Some of the things we are now talking about
concerning our vision and goals:
- worshipping!
- build a team for creative, encompassing,
God-directed worship
- who is our church for?
- publicity in the neighborhood?
- healthy budget and finances
- children's programs?
- encourage each other in our spiritual
gifting -- get to know each other!
- intentional connection with Iglesia Nueva
Esperanza
- intentional plan for discipleship and
mentoring

This is an amazing season of God's
blessing. I feel so humbled by all that He is doing, and I get
to watch! Let's continue to trust Jesus in all things!
