NM-Bosnia: from Jessica

Hello to all my friends!

There are so many things that I would like to tell you and I cannot possibly write about them all.

First I would just like to say I LOVE SARAJEVO!!!!!!!!!!! This city has definitely captured me, it is so beautiful here! I feel like I am at home, and all the friends that I have made feel like my brothers and sisters. I have been working these past two days in an orphanage staining windows and doors, and getting to know my translators Dejana and Svjetlana (spelling?) better. It is funny to me that we have translators, because everyone seems to know English. When I am not working I am usually hanging out, drinking coffee, or playing pool at the local, and very popular hangout, Dollar. My goal is to go pro when I get back to the states:)

On the surface things seem to be pretty peaceful here and sometimes it is easy to forget what has happened. However, there is a great need for God here, this place is still broken, and the pain is evident in the faces I see and the stories I here. Talking last night at dinner with one of my friends, he told me that in the summers he stays in Sarajevo close to the church, and helps translate for all the summer teams, but at the end of the summer he goes home to Serbia, and he is the only believer. That broke my heart. The people here have been greatly on my heart. So I ask you to pray that we could be an encouragement to them.

Thank you for your prayers, I wish I could write more, but I have a meeting.

Peace, Hope, Faith,
-Jessica-
