Hello from the Adriatic Sea,
Well our adventures in Bosnia came to an end
today but our experiences will never be forgotten.
I would just like to start by saying thank
you for all your prayers and support, and for giving us the chance
to make lasting friendships, experience a different and wonderful
culture, to let God work through us and change our lives in the
process.
While in Jajce we worked at a kids club from
three to five in the afternoon every day. The kids varied every day,
but two little girls that I became attached to were Ivana, and
Frikreta, both six years old. If you know me at all you know that I
become attached to kids very easily. One day as Ashley and I were
sitting on the balcony of our house eating the kifla (very very
excellent bread) that we were supposed to be saving for breakfast,
we heard some kids yelling up at us "hey" we looked down
to find the two girls smiling faces, so we invited them up. For the
next hour we were able to share our food with them and struggle
through trying talk with them not knowing each others languages. We
brought out our English to Croatian dictionaries, and tried to piece
words together, and the girls would just smile and talk to us like
we could understand. That was the most awesome time for me because I
got to do what I really love Just hanging out with a kid and being a
kid myself.
We are now on the coast of the beautiful
blue green sparkling diamond sea of the Adriatic. I hope that gives
you somewhat of a picture. I am looking forward to just relaxing,
and swimming, and drinking more coffee, and processing my time in
Bosnia. No pool table here which is a little bit of a
disappointment:) I think I will be ready to return to Phoenix in a
couple days. I miss you all, especially my Brat ( brother), and my
pas (dog).
Peace, Hope, Love -Jessica-
